I movie


For the past few weeks we have been doing science in groups. After we did all the experiments we had to make a movie in our groups. We used scientific language throughout the movie and we re enacted the experiment with our own props. (We used baking soda for our own effects.)


Care Awards - Term one Goals

This term my goal was to get to blue belt in music. I practise and practise every time when I can. My new goal for next term is to get black belt so I can help people how to earn it and how to learning new notes.

My next goal was in writing it was to describe more about the character and setting. I have done so by adding more as what I see in the background.

My last goal was in reading it was to read a noval
to help me inprove my reading skill. Which it has the
book called Fantastic Mr Fox.

Describing the scene

It was a freezing winter morning, the children around the farm were heading out to school. They heard a very faint step behind them but as looked behind them, no one was there. So they kept going, as they were walking they kept hearing unusual noises behind them but still no one was there. So they started getting worried. They turned a different way and started running near the trees to mislead the thing that was following them. Some girls thought it was just a made up lie so they stopped and started chattering.

Life Cycle



This is my DLO on white bait life cycle the purpose of this DLO to find out why the author crated the story we found out the story is inform which is apart of PIE (persuade, inform and entertain). We made the life cycle of the white bait because I wanted to teach you how they live.

Coke & Mento

Our aim it science was to discover what happen we mix coke and mento, my hypothesis was I thought that the coke will mix with mento and made a volcano look like. The method we used was 
1. To find a place outside 
2. Stand the coke up and unscrew the lid 
3. Connect the tube to the top of the lid 
4. Drop the mento into the tube when we are ready to pull the tooth pick out 
5. RUN!!

When we finish we had to wrote a observation and i wrote when I saw the mento join the coke it made the coke fizz go higher, I also hear the foam fizz before the foam exploded. After all that I felt sticke. I think this happen because the mento was acid for the coke  which made it rise.
  

OOBLECK DLO




This week in science we made our DLO on oobleck, my partner who help me was Pote we made this to teach people how to make oobleck as you can see our step in each picture.

Kayak Trip


As the kayaks arrived people were yelling in glee. They ran to the car to unhook the kayak to be ready to use in the lake! The first group to use the kayaks were the Dazzling Nights. They had four people in their group they were Georgia, Jason, Mike, and Star.

They got off to a great start but as they headed toward to the bridge they were approaching a RIP! The kayak flipped over trapping Jason under with very little air to breathe. Everyone was yelling his name in a terrified way but Georgia shouted at the top of her lungs to turn the kayak over! Everyone listened but at the same time they were still looking for Jason. They pushed and pulled the kayak hastily while still searching for Jason. Under the kayak Jason was trying to help to flip the kayak as well but the rip was too strong for him. They finally got the kayak over, and Jason was still missing. There was no boat around to hear them yelling for help.

Star was looking around and around, she saw a dot in the distance. She was shocked and started yelling at the others. She was screaming Jason’s name. When they finally got to him he had barely any life in him. So they rushed to give him CPR because they don’t want him to die. Little by little Jason slowly started waking up.

When he finally woke up he couldn't recall being under a kayak or even being on one, but he could remember the name of the person who saved him in his group. As they were talking a life rescue boat came close to them and asked them “Why are you guys not moving?” So they explained what happened to them, one person asked Jason “do you want to keep going down the river?” Jason replied “why not, I don’t even remember what happened in the first place so I have no fear of being on a kayak yet” So they kept heading down the river. “This river is very long” Georgia moaned like every minute she could, it wasn’t fun! They eventually got to the end of the river but they were disappointed because they had to turn back up the longest river ever, as Mike would say.

At last they returned to the bank. It seemed to take a year to get back to the groups, they were very exhausted and they jumped out of the kayaks and laid on the ground like a dead fish! Eventually one by one in little groups everyone started heading home.

Baking soda and Vinegar

This week  in science we did baking soda and vinegar we had to make a hypothis for this week and 
this is my hypothis was i thought the baking soda and vinegar was going to foam up.
After we wrote our hypothis we got to see if our hypothis was right so we but in a some baking soda into the the little cup, then we poured the malted vinegar into another cup half way after that we added them together and we got blast off. We put our hand in the foam it felt very weird.
After we wrote down our observation and i said the baking soda change into foam when we pour the vinegar in it also smelled very bad like beer, it also felt very weird because in the bubble or foam you could still feel the baking soda in it.
We  got to change one of our variable aka type of vinegar the amount of water or the amount of baking soda, we change our to white vinegar and then test it out for our self.
Lastly  we had to write another observation which my was, when we change our vinegar to white vinegar it came out quicker than the malted vinegar and it also smelt better than the last one as well, i hear the vinegar fizz and make smaller bubble and more bubble as well.
We also found off why it happen and bicarbonate and a asset  crafted carbon di oxide.

Science Oobleck

Today we made a hypothis if it was a solid or a liquid, my hypothis was we are going to mix a solid and a liquid and i think it going to be a liquid and a solid. 
After we did our hypothis we started to talk about variable which is what we can change,  we could change the amount of corn flower or water.
We finally got to the good bit which was getting our hand dirty we saw Miss Kirkpatrick do it first then we got to try after her which was fun my group added to much water to we didn't do it right but we still had putting our hand in.

After we had to write our observation and i said when I touch the oobleck it feel hard but when I pick it up it feel like a liquid. The reason why it feel like that it because it a non'newtonian liquid and when you punch the oobleck the moleclue join together.

Today we were learning to use draft to make our sentences stronger. DRAFT means Delete, Rearrange, Add, Fix and talk, we use this to fix our sentence.
